Cover of Places Like This

  1. Do you like to dance?
  2. Do you like pop music by people who actually like music?
  3. Do you think that “ya ya ya ya” is an adequate chorus lyric?

I enjoyed a few songs off In Case We Die, more specifically Do The Whirlwind (well, basically everyone dug that song), Tiny Paintings, and Frenchy I’m Faking. But they are a band that is difficult for me to get into because they remind of Deerhoof visits . . . The Fiery Furnaces. Both of which I found to be predominantly better than AiH.

I’ll give the new album a listen in any case. Maybe they might change my mind.

I’ve always considered the difference between Deerhoof and AiH to be that Deerhoof is conceptually attractive whereas AiH is aurally attractive.

    Panda panda panda panda..?
